Some 'time ago I was asked this question. Someone argued that adding sugar to coffee vending machines, beverage to cool faster.
To answer your question, pull ball in the 2nd law of thermodynamics and take into consideration the coffee-sugar.
Coffee has a temperature close to boiling water, its main component.
sugar instead is delivered to almost room temperature.
The system tends to reach a temperature equilibrium, whereby the first component, the coffee will tend to cool, while the second, the sugar will tend to heat up.
The temperature difference between the two quantities and items are so marked, however, that the sugar in a hurry to reach the solubility and melt in a few seconds, while coffee will cool down in an imperceptible way.
The result is that coffee does not cool down in practice, if not a minor.
The belief that the coffee cools date is probably the fact that in order to melt sugar many times you turn the coffee. This makes the drink more time to remain in contact with the surface of the glass, but most of the spoon air, compared to a bitter coffee, which is usually drunk in less time.
